Biotic factors and abiotic factors work hand to hand to create an ecosystem. Without the soil, plants wouldn't be able to grow and animals wouldn't be able to eat them. Without dead animals the soil wouldn't be able to get enough nutrients to sustain the plants. Biotic factors are animals, plants, fungus, etc. Abiotic factors are the soil, air, water, etc. They combine together by living off of each things they give.

Biotic factors such as the presence of autotrophs or self-nourishing organisms such as plants, and the diversity of consumers also affect an entire ecosystem. Abiotic factors affect the ability of organisms to survive and reproduce. Abiotic limiting factors restrict the growth of populations.  Examples of biotic factors include any animals, plants, trees, grass, bacteria, moss, or molds that you might find in an ecosystem.The abiotic factors in an ecosystem include all the nonliving elements of the ecosystem. Air, soil or substrate, water, light, salinity and temperature all impact the living elements of an ecosystem.
