If you had to explain love to an alien who has no understanding of love, how would you explain it?​

Well Love can be defined as many things. There are also different kinds of love, to us romantic love is more or less different standards we use to treat a romantic partner, as well as being there for them when they want us. Motherly love is the relationship between a mother and child, and what lengths she will go to do things for them. Friendship love is love we get from being next to our  favorite people, or an animal we decided to take care of, and how we spend our time with them, sibling love is our relationship with our siblings, what lengths we will go to do something for them, and how we spend our time with them. Parent's love is similar to motherly love except its reversed and it shows  what the offspring or child will do to be around, and care for the parents.

Explanation:

You would have to explain each kind of love to him as well as show him examples and demonstrate how your supposed to perform and what to do with each one. (i would assume they would have some form of mate since they need the ability to reproduce and keep their species numbers up, so you would only have to show how to behave and what standards there are for romantic love, like gifts, what a date is, how to treat them, etc.) you could show them how to act and treat a pet, as well as how to form bonds with it. You could show them examples of different people and their relationships to see the differences in types of love, and you could show them how to form bonds and relationships/friendships with others of their kind as well as humans.
