A. Harsh winter conditions intensify the Being's feelings of desolation, but as the weather warms, he feels momentarily hopeful and grateful to be alive.
B. The decay of autumn and snows of winter remind the Being that life is fleeting, that when spring comes, he appreciates being alive all the more
C. At first, the Being takes pleasure in his travels, but the coming of winter creates hardship for him igniting an anger that makes even spring seem miserable .
