In at least 150 words, describe the differences between Huck's sense of morality and that of the duke and Dauphin In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Huck tells many lies (often through instantly made-up stories) throughout Huckleberry Finn. Early in the novel, he dresses up like a girl and talks with a woman he does not know in order to get an update on events happening in town. The woman sees through his lie and realizes he is a boy, but she assumes he is a mistreated apprentice running away from a cruel master. Huck, unafraid to lie, goes along with her story. (It is easier than making up something new.) Through this made-up story, this series of lies, Huck finds out that people are coming to search Jackson Island and that Jim and Huck need to escape. In this situation, Huck's lies are essentially harmless. The woman who told him the news is not harmed in any way by Huck's lie.

The only person who could arguably be negatively affected by Huck's lie is Miss Watson, who owns Jim (a slave). By running away with Jim, Huck believes he is committing a crime: he is helping to steal property.
