This type of writing provides an explanation regarding to a topic the reader does not know; present the latest research on a subject, provides the definition of a complex term, compare and contrast opposing viewpoints, analyze a cause-effect relationship, or teach readers how to solve a problem or apply knowledge. These texts may include data and facts but it does not convey any opinions.
