FAH451 You are a resident of the city and the bombs have not dropped yet. Every day on the news, you are told that war is coming, but not to worry, so you go through your day as you always have because you trust the government. You don’t know that today is the last day. Write a narrative essay (short story) in which you describe your last day in the city--who are you and what is your life like. Are you on your way to school, to work, where? Become someone else! You must include information from the novel to craft your short story, but it is not a summary of the novel. The name Guy Montag might sound familiar to you--just a name on the television. You know that mechanical hounds exist but maybe you’ve never seen one. Or maybe you have. You might own books--you might be like Clarisse or you might be like the crowd. You might love watching television or you might just turn off the volume to listen to the silence. Describe your day in the dystopian society--keep in mind that you have to use elements from the novel, but you should not rewrite the novel. The elements from the novel are the “background noise”. I’m looking for two pages, single spaced. I would first type it in 'WORD' so I can edit spelling and grammar and then copy/paste to the workspace in "Writing."

The ancient greek poet. homer, is credited with writing the odyssey. however, scholars still debate whether homer wrote the entire epic. what is the main reason for this uncertainty? o some sections of the epic are written in different poetic styles and forms. most ancient greeks could not read or write, so the epic was first written in latin ob och storytellers repeated the epic aloud for centuries before it was ever written down. od the epic was a fictional account, so the identity of its author may have been fictionalized as well.

Before ending this lesson, take a moment to review an informative research essay you have written. you’ve probably already written a conclusion to the essay. but is it the best conclusion it can be? does it properly summarize the main subtopics of your essay? does it state in one or two sentences the “so what” of your topic. if your topic was abraham lincoln, your essay shouldn’t be just about abraham lincoln. it should answer, “so what about abraham lincoln? ” take five or ten minutes, and looking only at that single paragraph, revise your conclusion
