Ender's Game Ch 4-6 Discussion Questions 1.During the shuttle launch, other kids get sick and disoriented by weightlessness and by losing their sense of up and down. Why is Ender able to keep from getting disoriented? What does this tell us about Ender as a character? What can we learn from this about creative or innovative thinking?

2.When Ender breaks Brenard's arm, it is the second time he has lashed out violently against a bully. Are these acts of violence justified? Is Ender still a good person like Valentine, or is he a viscous monster like Peter? Or is he something in between?

3.In chapter 4, Graff tells Ender, “Human beings are free except when humanity hits them.” What do you think he means by this? Do you agree with him?

4. Bernard quickly builds a small group of followers in battle school. Why do you think bullies like Bernard and Stilson always seem to have cronies who are willing to follow them? What does this tell us about the personality or character of people who are drawn to bullies?

5. At Battle School, kids play a fantasy game on their desks. Apparently, the adults at the school monitor this game as a way to psychoanalyze the children. Can what you choose to do in a game reveal the kind of person you are inside? How?
