You should now be familiar with strategies to help improve your reading skills before, during, and after reading. Now you will put all these skills together in one informative reading presentation. This assessment has two parts. Read all parts of the assessment, including the rubric, before beginning. When you have completed all parts of this assessment, submit it to your instructor for grading in the 03.08 Gist the Thing For You assessment. This assessment is worth 150 points. Imagine that a teacher asks you to share your story about improving your reading skills with sixth graders who are struggling with and frustrated by reading. The teacher hopes your story will inspire the students to try some of the strategies you know, helping them to become better readers. In your presentation, you will share information you learned in this path and provide examples of your own work. You may choose from a variety of formats such as a slide show or web blog; visit the Web 2.0 Tools area for ideas.
