The simile that Shakespeare uses to describe the schoolboy is a snail.

In lines 7 and 8 Shakespeare states categorically that “Then, the whining schoolboy with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like a snail.”

This comparison is still fits children today when they are at the second stage of their seven-state growth towards adulthood and death.

This description does not fit me today.  I am an emotional lover, at the very third stage of my life's journey.
