Generally, telling the straight and simple truth is the easiest thing to do—except when you're in love. I don't think it's hard for a person to fake being in love and to lie to win a person’s heart. But when love is real, like my love for you, expressing it is so hard. When it comes to you, I’m always at a loss for words. Anyway, I live my life by a simple rule: always speak the plain truth. I don't know how some people can lie to someone's face and then claim to love them. I am not capable of such trickery. I find it disgusting. So I will follow my rule and tell you exactly how I feel about you. I love you very much. I want to marry you. I am torn between hope that you’ll agree and fear that you will refuse.
