My Space I need a space, a simple place to call my own. A place to create, like an artist's studio with paints and brushes: my imagination in color. A place to prepare, like a squirrel's nest full of acorns as winter approaches. A destination in which to daydream, like a map of Ambition, guiding me into the future. I need a safe space to be me. A. The simile comparing personal space to a nest supports the idea that the time the speaker has in her own space helps her meet external challenges later.

B. The simile comparing personal space to winter supports the idea that the speaker has a cold and unfriendly personality.

C. The simile comparing personal space to a nest supports the idea that the speaker would like to go into her room and come out only very rarely.

D. The simile comparing personal space to winter supports the idea that having a safe retreat helps the speaker succeed in life.
