Mr. Bedford Meets Mr. Cavor at Lympne

As I sit down to write here amidst the shadows of vine-leaves under the blue sky of southern Italy, it comes to me with a certain quality of astonishment that my participation in these amazing adventures of Mr. Cavor was, after all, the outcome of the purest accident. It might have been any one. I fell into these things at a time when I thought myself removed from the slightest possibility of disturbing experiences. I had gone to Lympne because I had imagined it the most uneventful place in the world. “Here, at any rate,” said I, “I shall find peace and a chance to work!”

My first impression of Mr. Cavor is that he's a busy man. Of course in this passage, Mr. Cavor has already stated that his time for interaction is limited, but there are also other clues in the text that lead me to believe that. Before Mr. Bedford starts talking to Mr. Cavor the audience can already see that he's eyeing his watch. He also seems to be a very timid man, with him stuttering in a lot of his sentences. It could be that he's a bit nervous talking to Mr. Bedford, or maybe he has somewhere to be. Now Mr. Bedford on the other hand seems to be more of the attentive type. He states that he's been watching Mr. Cavor for thirteen days, which to me seems to be a little bit obsessive, but it could be possible that he just admires and appreciates Mr. Cavor deeply.

what makes a hero is someone who tries and acres and then to save people and it’s not their jobs to save them just a normal person that has no experts of saving people would jump in to action without it twice about doing it. me that’s the defection of a hero!
