What does the interaction between Robin Hood and Little John reveal about one or both characters?

The interaction between Robin Hood and Little John reveals so much of their personalities. For example, Robin Hood is more cunning and good with bow and arrow while Little John is less cunning and  gentler.

Robin Hood and Little John are both fictional characters in a child's ballad by Louis Rhead. They started as enemies, but ended up being very close.

When it comes to their relationship and interaction, it can be seen that Robin Hood is more cunning than Little John. He always finds way in order to deceit the law, so he can give the rich's wealth to the poor.
