Write a poem about the Odyssey using separate paper. Your poem should be at least 20 lines long. It can focus on the entire story or one particular scene or adventure. You can write from the perspective of an outside narrator/speaker or from a character's perspective. Use imagery and figurative language to add interest and depth of meaning to your poem. As you write your poem, be sure to meet the following criteria.
- Use an appropriate style and structure.
- Keep the perspective consistent throughout the poem (don't shift points of view).
- Use rich figurative language and imagery to make the poem "come alive" for the reader.
- Focus on an important aspect of the story.
- Reread and revise your poem to ensure that it maintains its focus, is organized, and uses an effective voice and style.
- Edit and proofread to ensure that you correct all errors in punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and grammar.
When you are finished with your poem, type it in MS Word or Word Pad and save it.
