Why does Ponyboy idealize the country while he and Johnny look at the stars in chapter 4?

Living in the country could solve Ponyboy’s problems because there aren’t a lot of people that live in the country. If he were to move to the country, he wouldn’t really be known. If you live in the country like me, only about six miles away from a town, your neighbors are at least a quarter mile away. If you live in the country country, you live about ten to fifteen miles away from a town. With that said, if Ponyboy were to move to the country country, he would not have to worry about being jumped, the social classes, or a job. No one would know who Ponyboy was, his financial issues, or his family. Therefore it would solve his problems and give peace of mind.
