Growing up I was always a creative child, filled with life and living in my own fantasy. Little did I know how drawing stick figures in my notebook and putting paint all over my hands to making marks on paper would get me to love and appreciate art. I never notice that I had a passion for art until the 8th grade, it was my second year in the art program at my school when I made the decision that I was going to start taking this seriously and developing my skills. I can now say that I’ve been doing so for 5 years. At the ending of the 9th grade was when someone first doubted me and said that I need to “take up something that would actually make me money and I could find a job in” but I never let this detour me I joined to program back and made I my full elective. The first year was when I started showing out. I helped with 3 murals in my school and drawings here and there to make the school more lively, help created banners and flyers for clubs I’m in, and also worked with the ministry of works and became apart of their mentorship program by the time as 11th grade. An art show was supposed to be done my last year to give back to the school and the art department but due to the pandemic sadly it was postponed.
I plan to continue to build my skills and contribute in whatever way that I can growing is something that keeps me motivated
