Besides various cases of students not attending classes in zoom, I stand with the fact that the cameras of students should remain closed during online classes. Online, learners are often instructed by their educators to glance at the whole classroom's computer and remain centered on their peers' video streams. This will lead in emotions of repeated eye contact, that can feel awkward and dangerous. When students think on how they might look to others, thinking as though someone is observing may be overwhelming.
