Pip used to be self-absorbed and selfish. He has come to realize that not everything is about him. He spent a lot of his time at the Satis house to please Miss Havisham. When he found out she was just using him, it made him angry. Over time he has realized that she was lonely and sad and she was trying to cope with her feelings in the only way she could think of. He has also realized how much Joe has been a blessing to him. He has realized how many people have put him before themselves and he is now trying to give back to those people. Pip is a good man, but he is struggling with how to go about being selfless and giving.
