Kalli is writing an essay about the life of Mother Theresa. Which text features in this excerpt help organize the information? Mother Theresa

Mother Theresa is well-known for her service to the poor in Calcutta, India. She once said, “Intense love does not measure; it just gives.” She worked to spread love and hope to those within her reach, but not many people know about her background and what led her to do her great work.

Early Life

Mother Theresa was born in Yugoslavia on August 27, 1910, under the name Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu. She was the youngest of three children. She had an older sister, Aga, and an older brother, Lazar. Although most people believe that she came from humble beginnings, her family actually had a lot of money. Her father was a well-respected contractor, and their family had two homes. When she was only seven years old, tragedy struck. Her father passed away suddenly, and her mother had to take full responsibility for the children.

Mother Theresa later recalled that she spent a lot of her time at church with her family, but she didn’t decide to become a nun until she was 18 years old. At this point, she traveled to Ireland to receive her training from the Loreto Sisters of Dublin.
