Song: Animal Crossing: Wild World - Main Theme

Memory: When I was a kid, my parents gave me a rose pink Nintendo DS that they scored in a garage sale, along with a copy of the game Animal Crossing: Wild World. What my parents didn't realize was that this gift would create one of my most long-standing hobbies of all time. I still remember the night when I first booted up the game on the tiny console-- I was sitting in my pink-walled room, right underneath an open windowsill. It was raining, and the sickly-sweet smell of wet grasses and trees was filling my senses as the theme song of the game gently ran through my room. I remember the dorky smile that grew on my face as I was driven to my virtual town by a little green turtle. Even today, I smile when I think about that night and how giddy I was to start up that game.

Song: Panacea - Disasterpeace (might not work if you don't live in the north)

Memory: I had snuck out late at night while staying with my grandparents, having just read an article about how aurora borealis was going to be especially visible in my area. I remember my heart pounding as I gently closed the door to the run-down cottage, hoping to not wake up their pet dog. I had crossed the threshold, and suddenly, I was bounding through the forest, looking for a small clearing to maximize my viewing of the northern lights. When I had finally settled down on an overturned tree, I turned my gaze skyward and put on my favorite playlist. I still remember vividly listening to the song Panacea by Disasterpeace as the lights finally came into view. It was both a beautiful and haunting sight, matched perfectly with the eerie tone of the song. Whenever I hear the song, I'm taken back to that fateful night.
