Hi! Please help! I have an analysis due soon so can someone please proofread it and give me suggestions. Thank you! In Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton develops his style of whimsical and mysterious. He displays a whimsical mood by using sound whenever Edward is outside of the house, creating the ice sculpture for the Christmas party, despite that many of the neighbors are unsettled and terrified of him. With a smile on her face, Kim comes outside and sees Edward making the magnificent angel and twirls around, making it seem like a fairytale. The snow falling from the ice sculpture illustrates a gentle, relaxing feeling that Tim Burton attempts to make the audience feel. This style is created by his choice of non-diegetic sound because the music is gentle and reflects how kind-hearted of an individual Kim is. The music sounds as if someone is singing peacefully, which creates a Christmas or dreamy feeling for the viewer. Due to the soothing music, the whimsical sensation induces a playful and peaceful mood. Technique and mood create style because all the aspects of the film including sound and lighting all together create style within the film. The technique and mood create a style of childlike innocence because it creates a fairytale effect on the viewer. You can also sense romance between Kim and Edward, which contributes to the childlike component.
