After years out at sea, I was finally ready to come home. A sailor could spend a lifetime catching fish and navigating any kind of storm. But I am finally getting too old for the sea. "We sure are going to miss you, Captain Marcus," said Young Timmy. He was the ship's newest recruit. At first I was afraid he wasn't tough enough for the job, but he eventually learned the ropes.

I sure will miss being out at sea. The stars at night are an especially lovely sight. But I'll be happy to see my family, too. They will be waiting for me at the dock when I arrive.

Use the drop-down menu to answer the questions.

What is the narrator's perspective about leaving the ship?

What tells you that Captain Marcus likes stars?
