I helped Jasper clear the debris off the unusual stone. It was the size of a large garbage can lid. While Jasper dug around the edges, I tried to pry the stone loose. Finally, we worked together to lift the stone from the ground. To our amazement, there was a dark hole underneath the stone. Jasper shined his flashlight down into the hole and discovered a ladder, but he could not see how deep the hole was.
