Tennyson's poem about Lady Shalott had a lot of similarities to the painting of  Waterhouse as it captured most of the details seen in the painting. However, a close examination of the painting revealed a physical feature of Lady Chalott which was not described in the poem by Tennyson.

That feature is the long blonde hair of Lady Shalott that was hanging loosely side by side. Her blonde hair was held with a white band. That is a distinct description of the Lady but because text is most times limited and cannot cover all descriptions, that bit can be observed from the painting.
