What is the function of the prepositional phrase "on the coast" in this sentence? When I go to college, I want to attend a school on the coast so I can spend my Saturdays surfing! It connects the subject and object with the word so. It modifies the noun school. It modifies the verb spend. It answers the question "What can I do on Saturdays?"
