N this activity, you will choose a story or work of fiction that you have previously read and are familiar with. This activity will allow you to deeply analyze and explore how complex characters within the text develop over the course of the text, interact with other characters, and advance the plot or develop the theme. You will first use the provided graphic organizers, by either recreating them or copying and pasting them, to explore these ideas of character development (examining three different characters) throughout the text of your choice. Then, you will either create a Power Point style presentation or compose a one page summary to present and reflect upon your thoughts regarding the characterization and character development present in the text. Your grade will be based on the rubric below. Please look it over before beginning your assignment.

Once you are ready to begin, please follow these steps:

Choose a text that you have read prior to this activity.
Recreate and fill out all graphic organizers provided exploring one main character and two secondary characters. Use complete sentences and proper punctuation.
Use the information that is supplied in the graphic organizers to either write a one page summary or create a Power Point style slide show analyzing how you felt the author developed complex characters throughout the text, how they interacted with other characters, and how these characters impacted the plot or theme.
