Read the excerpt from “Homesick” by Jean Fritz. I knew that Andrea had begun to like boys. She said everyone at the Shanghai American School had a crush
on someone else and when your love was requited well, that was the cat's. What I couldn't understand was
how someone could be in love with John Gilbert and a kid in knickers at the same time.
I suppose Andrea could see that I was trying to figure out the boy business.
