If Paul Laurence Dunbar was going to give us a grade on how much progress we have made as a society since his death in 1904, what kind of score do you think he would give us on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the top score? Remember, he would be evaluating us about our progress in allowing ALL people in America to have freedom and not suffer from the emotional/physical pain that comes from prejudice and discrimination. Would he say we have done a good job or erasing hatred, or would he say that we still have a long ways to go? Explain, and give plenty of examples.
