1 The day of my snorkeling tour on the Great Barrier Reef, I was ready with my "wish list." What did I hope to see Sea turtles! Giant clams! Reef sharks! 2 After 90 minutes on a high-speed boat, we arrived at an outer reef. We were so far from shore that we couldn't even see land. With wetsuits and flippers, snorkels and masks, it was finally time to jump in. 3 Being underwater felt like being in another world. Tall, tower-like coral formations almost touched the water's surface. The warm water was so clear I could even see the seafloor. Sunlight created underwater light ripples.
