Dear Journal,

I'm still in shock as to what happened these few days. My friends and I decided to take a spontaneous travel to my ancestral village to visit my grandparents after ten years. When I arrived at my ancestral village, it was visible that the village that I saw ten years before, it was gone. The ancestral village that I saw as a younger person, it had morphed into a place of breathtaking areas and the homes were a bit more decorative and less dirty as well as less old looking. Although the houses and everything else looked quite cleaner, the places still had the touch of oldness to it. The traditions never failed to impress me and the consistency of everything just blew my mind. My friends and I decided not to video ourselves or take any selfies since we thought it would be disrespectful and we would rather be in the moment than capture the memories and look back on it without genuinely experiencing the memory/ moment in real time. I will never forget my journey through the village. Tears were shed from happiness and in awe as well as admiration. Laughter was spread throughout the time that I was there, enjoying peoples company as well as just having a good time with a group of strangers that welcomed me. Heartfelt and deep conversation were held during the time. It was unforgettable and irreplaceable.
