A king of a land had decided on making use of a public trial where an accused person will be given the choice of choosing his own fate. Their guilt or innocence will be decided by a game of chance, and as it will be the individual's choice to choose, the blame will be on no one else except his own self. There came an issue where his own daughter had fallen in love with a man from a lower status. So, he made the man chose between two doors, one leading to a beautiful lady who will immediately be married to him and another, a hungry tiger who will obviously kill him. This choice of either one will make sure that he doesn't marry the princess even if he survives. This is the king's way of saving his daughter and also his honor.
