Allie and her family were headed to Arizona, where they would rent a car and drive around the southwest. She had a long list of activities she wanted to do and places to visit, but number one was to see a tumbleweed. She got her chance the second day of the trip, when the family headed to the O. K. Corral. Allie's father loved the history of Tombstone and the Wild West, but Allie knew the tourist attraction was also a ghost town. If books and movies had taught her anything, it was that ghost towns were full of tumbleweeds. Alas, the whole day and not once did Allie see one tumbling weed, or even a strong gust of wind. The family packed up the car and began heading back to their hotel in the city. Allie was beginning to drift to sleep in the backseat when the car came to a sudden stop. When she raised her head to see why her father had stopped so suddenly, she became giddy. In front of the car was a never-ending parade of tumbleweed crossing the road.
