How do stories Inspire us to take action to contribute to a better world?

Stories are written by people who were inspired to write. They were inspired to write something they felt passionate about. Then somebody who has the same interests picks up that book. Books are filled with information on a topic and full of imagination. Of course stories inspire us to contribute to the world. Depending on what you read about, that book makes you think about that topic and then inspires us.
