will be at a shop to rent or buy gear. Most importantly, of course, you'll
need a board. Unlike skiing, snowboarding requires both feet to be
strapped to one board, which gives riders more of a toe-to-heel motion
than a side-to-side one. Beginning snowboarders should be
professionally fitted for boots as well as a board, since proper fit can
make a big difference in how quickly you pick up the sport.
Snowboarders must also wear a helmet in a terrain park, where there
are jumps and rails, and many choose to wear a helmet on regular hills
as well. You should also wear warm, comfortable clothing. Once you
have all this equipment, from your board to your mittens, you'll be
ready to start your life on the slopes!
