 They contribute because when the author says there are days we live as if death were no such thing and the last stanza is saying this to tell you do the things that you would do if there was no death or end to your life.

Explanation: In lines 17 and 18, it says" There are days we live as if death were nowhere." The theme of this poem is to live life to the fullest.
