At the time of the black death the Jewish religion were a vast minority and a lot therefore time it was common that they were wealthy merchants and a lot of Jewish people had the plague. The Jews at the time were hated by majority and were seen as dirty and unclean. Because of this the other people in Europe began to think that because they were 'dirty' the plague must have started from them hence why they were blamed for the black death.

Other times in history in during the slavery period when people of black race were targeted as they were a minority group and could easily be oppressed by the amount of white people due to the difference in numbers.
