An Inspector Calls’ has a cyclical structure. Discuss the following and decide what you think:
i- If the play ends exactly as it starts, what is Priestley’s message?
ii- Does the play’s ‘back to the front structure’ say anything about the society of the time?
iii- How do you think the Birlings will react to the questions of the second inspector?

I- priestlys message was to get through to the audience that choices have consequences. By ending the play exactly how it started it represents how you will repeat the same mistakes if you do not change your ways.

ii- during that time of society it showed how what class you was in was supposed to be important and if you were higher class, you was better than anyone. Which was not true.

iii- the younger Birlings such as Eric and Sheila will answer more truthful than they did with the first inspector as they want to right what they have done wrong whilst the older generation (mr and mrs birling) will not as from start to finish they didn’t see that they did anything wrong and that it was all eva smiths fault.

compare & contrast informative essay/speech

when speaking or writing for the sole purpose of providing information in order to give audience members a good basis for making a decision, you would present an informative speech or essay.   because you wouldn’t want to be persuading the audience by arguing for one type of exercise over the other, you wouldn’t choose a persuasive/argumentative technique.   to fairly, and without bias, present information about the pros and cons of each type exercise, a compare/contrast, informative speech/essay would be the best bet.
