In the methods section of a lab report, you will outline the steps you completed during your investigation. In a formal lab report, you will write your methods in paragraph format, rather than in a numbered list. Just like in your procedure, your methods section should be detailed enough that another scientist could replicate your experiment. With this said, some details are not necessary to include. One of the trickier parts about writing a methods section is the tense you must use.
