In Act I, Scene 1 of The Diary of Anne Frank, Otto Frank has returned to the Secret Annex where he and his family hid during the Holocaust. In your journal, begin a K-W-L chart about the Holocaust. A K-W-L chart can help you organize your thoughts before and after reading a work of literature. In the "K" section, write three to five things you KNOW about the Holocaust. In the "W" section, write three to five things you WANT to know about the Holocaust. Leave the "L" section blank, to be filled in after you have read the entire play. Your responses should be in clear, complete sentences. Print your K-W-L Chart, or use it as a model in your journal.
