She is known for being an author, an activist, and a lecturer; all with being blind and deaf. Thanks to Helen's work, braille became the standard system around the world in 1932. Helen Keller pushed the United States government for more assistance to the blind. As Helen Keller traveled the world, she changed the lives of millions of people with visual impairments. She brought them courage and hope. Helen Keller was such an inspiration to many. Without her, braille wouldn't have existed, socialism would have more conflicts, and people that are blind couldn't live their life correctly. Her life was productive because of this.
