What does the verbal irony in this text suggest?

While waiting for her search results, Blanca exclaimed, "My Internet connection is as speedy as a snail!"

The irony would be the simile, "Speedy as a snail". It's ironic because snail aren't fast, so she was saying that her internet is slow.
