Kahlo brusquely informed Rivera that she wanted him to tell her the unvarnished truth about her work. If she could not earn her living as an artist, she announced, she would take up some other profession to help her parents. "I want you to tell me if I am a good enough artist to make it worthwhile to go on."

Kahlo unwrapped three of her portraits and waited as Rivera studied them. In a few minutes, he informed her that she was indeed an authentic artist.

Kahlo , was a Mexican painter known for her many portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. she employed a art style to explore questions of identity,  gender, class, and race in Mexican society. Her paintings often had strong autobiographical elements and mixed realism with fantasy.

Kahlo's interests in politics and art led her to join the Mexican Communist Party in 1927, through which she met fellow Mexican artist Diego Rivera. The couple married in 1929, and spent the late 1920s and early 1930s traveling in Mexico and the United States together.

when her work was rediscovered by art historians and political activists. By the early 1990s, she had become not only a recognized figure in art history, but also regarded as an icon for Chicanos.

She participated for the first time in an exhibition, when Frieda and Diego Rivera was included in the Sixth Annual Exhibition of the San Francisco Society of Women Artists in the Palace of the Legion of Honor.

I think that Frida Kahlo made a bold move when she decided to show her portraits to Rivera.

Explanation:

Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist and also considered a feminists icon. Painting became her way of life, especially after encountering a bus accident that seriously injured her spine and pelvis.

The situation above shows that Frida Kahlo made a bold move when she decided to show her portraits to Rivera (her husband) because Rivera's opinion could either let her pursue painting or do other professions. This means that Kahlo stepped out from her comfort zone and wanted to know the truth about her painting skills by asking her husband's opinion. She was ready to listen or accept anything that her husband would say.

the illustration   that would give a reader a clear understanding of the text is a picture of men constructing the frame of a building.the frame is made of iron bars. the text describes the job of blacksmiths'. these were very organised and they had different names: "the driver" and "the heater". the text describes the way in which these men worked ; they worked iron pieces as if they were playing a sport. in fact, the text wants to show the men's skills. the text also puts some emphasis on the use of '' rivets'' in construction. this kind of nails were not always used in the construction of manhattan.
