Searching for Sammie When Tucker got off the bus, he ran home to see his dog, Sammie. Today his loving golden retriever did not greet him at the door like usual. Tucker ran through the house looking under beds and in closets. The back yard was empty with the gate securely locked. His mom would not be home from work for another hour and she was not answering her phone. Tucker’s eyes became teary just as he heard his mom pull up in the driveway; followed by the sound of two car doors closing. He quickly wiped his eyes before running to meet his mom. When he opened the front door, he was surprised and overjoyed to see Sammie following behind his mom. “Hey sweetie, sorry I forgot to remind you this morning about Sammie’s vet appointment this afternoon. How was your day?” Tucker was too occupied with Sammie to answer his mom. What is the most reasonable explanation for Tucker hearing two car doors close shut? A) Mom forgot her purse and opened the door again to get it. B) Sammie was in the back seat and she let him out after she got out. C) The neighbor rode with her to the vet to help with Sammie. D) Mom left the window down in the car and she was afraid Sammie would jump out. Eliminate
