Select a poem not studied in this unit. You can find a poem in the library or on the Internet according to your teacher's instructions. You will be asked to answer the following questions in the space below:

OBJECTIVES

Write a basic analysis of a short poem.
Copy and paste your chosen poem into the box below. Be sure to include the title and author. Document the source of the poem according to MLA format (click here to view the MLA Style Guide).

Answer the following questions in at least 250 words about your chosen poem.

What is the base meter (i. e., iambic pentameter) of the poem?
If the poem rhymes, what is the rhyme scheme (i. e., abba cddc efef gg) of the poem?
Describe what you think the poem is about in one or two paragraphs.
Describe what the poem means to you in one or two paragraphs.
