step three: the introduction and conclusion
you now have enough information to write the introduction and conclusion for your research on perspective. certainly, you have discovered some variance between the primary and secondary sources. this discovery will you write your claim. make sure you include a claim in the thesis statement, which will be found in both the introduction and conclusion paragraphs. in the introduction, you should explain how perspective has or could influence the original speech. the conclusion must include a summary of the major discrepancies you found between the two editorials and your overall findings of perspective. both the introduction and conclusion should answer how perspective changes our view on history.

now, you must edit your paper and prepare to publish your findings. if you want others to read your paper, you must first be willing to reread and change information that is not clearly stated. the following checklist may you as you edit and clarify your writing.

go back and add detailed and precise language in each paragraph.
for this type of mini-research project, you will need to use transitions to you link the main paragraphs with each other and the conclusion. effective transitions will create cohesion and clarify the relationships among the ideas that you have included. make sure you have used several transitions.
check for varied sentences. if all your sentences are simple, try using a complex or compound sentence.
ask a friend or classmate to read your paper and point to sections that may need to be rewritten for clarity.
reread the expectations for your project. did you include all the information? do your introduction and conclusion meet the requirement of this assignment?
step five: final
after reviewing your final product, you are ready to turn in your assignment. make sure you include transcripts of the speeches or editorials and the web addresses for all your sources. you can also include the audio or video file for your instructor and classmates.
