‘Cloudy Day’ is a poem written by Jimmy Santiago. This poem is based on the central idea that no matter in whatever situation you’re in, there’s always a ray of hope. When we read the first stanza, it makes us clear that Baca (the person who is poisoned) is talking about his own life story. In the every first stanza we get some details which is not quite possible for an ordinary man to come up with such details. Only the one who is imprisoned can show us the reality of life. The tone used by the speaker is very encouraging and optimistic one.
