Book IX of the text shows where Odysseus and his men had encountered the Cyclops Polyphemus, the son of the God Poseidon. He replied that Nobody had fooled him which made the others think that he had gone mad for he said nobody is responsible for his ailment, where he had meant the person "Nobody/ Odysseus" and not nobody.
