as i slowly regain my five senses, i can feel the rapid heat from the fiery blue flame spreading, causing the fluid within the wood to the first boil and then vaporise into ash. as i slowly open my eyes, the blurry vision starts fading away, i see burning buildings and dead human corpses everywhere. i ask myself, “what happened to the impenetrable kingdom of camelot when i was unconscious? ” what i see in front of my eyes gives the answer and a prolonged shock, a mythical dragon “the jabberwocky,” that everyone fears forms before my eyes. the jabberwocky is a gigantic, scaly, that stood tall, its wings flap swiftly as the moonlight make it simmer. it has got flames in an endless rage in its eyes. the jabberwocky is roaming in the camelot kingdom and brining destruction with its strong, sharp jaws that a devour everything.

my eyes begin to have the look of fear as the jabberwocky starts to exhale another fiery blue flame in the direction where i lived, the fire burn down the building where i think my family is still in there. i quickly rush to the beat-up home that i live in. what i saw gave me a frightening face, i saw my parent corpse with my little brother jacob right next to it. it was painful to see him like this. all i could do was embrace him and let the torrent of his tears soak through my worn-out shirt, and seeing one large tear finally break free down his cheek almost had me crying, too. i could feel him clenching his fists, trying to resist his hand from trembling, not knowing whether he should be mad or give up hope altogether. i could hear him silently screaming, suffocating with each breath. i stream in rage with a hated look for the jabberwocky. my brother jacob look me in the face giving a strange glowing rock he said: “before our parent dies he told me to give this to you.” i pick up the glowing rock in that instance the shape of that glowing rock started to transform into a weird golden sword. i decided to name it the vorpal blade. i head out looking for the jabberwocky, knowing what i have to do.

as wander around the destroy kingdom of camelot looking for the sinful jabberwocky. i can see many different kinds of beasts and monsters in the kingdom like the dire wolfs and the green goblins but in front of them are the mythical jabberwocky. i quickly pull out the vorpal sword that my parent gave me then charge at the dire wolfs and the goblins, in one swing i manage to cut through all the dire wolf and the goblin, but then the jabberwocky swing it enormous tail at me that almost kill me but somehow i manage to dodge the strong jabberwocky tail then come the second tail of the jabberwocky swing at me knocking on the ground i got no more energy to stand up, i was powerless against the jabberwocky. as i close my eye thinking to myself “why would anyone trust me to kill the mythical jabberwocky” then a bright light overcome my mind without any hesitation i stand up and grab the vorpal sword. i swiftly jump forward to the jabberwocky as my sword whistles through the air and into the jabberwocky head. the jabberwocky head drop at the ground then i can feel that my body was running through emotion of relief but then i fainted without knowing it.

Read this excerpt from "the light of gandhi's lamp" by hilary kromberg inglis, in which she describes driving to the police station where her sister is being detained. to avoid looking at the blackened windows at the top of the building and thinking about the history of who had died or been tortured there, i always looked instead at the little chinese restaurant on the opposite side of the road. how does this passage affect the text? it conveys, with great subtlety, the conflict she felt over having a sister who would break the law and end up in the custody of the police. it conveys, without any implied moral judgment, that those who fought against apartheid considered themselves to be soldiers in a just war. it conveys, with an extended metaphor, the idea that being detained by the police in this society was regarded as a badge of honor. it conveys, with direct language, the view held by many anti-apartheid activists that the police often acted in brutal and unlawful ways.
