You are the head of human resources at tech4u, a company that produces computer software for small businesses. you have been assigned the task of composing a memo describing a change in policy. last week one of tech4u’s employees, stuart dent, was terminated after it support personnel discovered illegally downloaded content on his computer during a system upgrade. stuart was a highly-efficient and well-liked employee. he, however, violated company policy after signing an agreement that he understood and would uphold this policy. thus, management opted to fire him because his actions were not only in violation of policy but were also unethical and may leave the company vulnerable to legal action. you therefore inform all department managers to verbally communicate the following to their employees: “stuart dent is no longer with the organization. he violated company policy by downloading computer content illegally. make sure that you read policy #52.7. we will also be holding a compulsory meeting next friday at 3: 00pm to review this policy.”
