My name is francesco melzi, and i was apprenticed to the great leonardo da
vinci. apart from painting many masterpieces, da vinci was a brilliant inventor and
scientist. he conceived of a helicopter centuries before one was actually
constructed. what no one knows is that he also designed a time machine. when da
vinci died in 1519, i inherited the plans and devoted years to building it. this device
is the means by which i've traveled here today to relate this tale.
